The presenter identifies the state of Ohio’s available resources for addiction and brings awareness to the challenges of managing addiction. The best practice outcome provides direct guidance and access for physicians and injured workers as they manage chronic pain and opiate use.

Learning Objectives: 1. Explain substance use disorders (SUDs), including diagnosis and treatment; 2. Describe therapeutic approaches to SUDs; 3. Describe Ohio’s interventions to address epidemic of opiate use; and 4. Identify how to access providers of care.
