Description:
This session explores the rules behind lockout/tagout and arc flash and why application of these rules are often done incorrectly. The speaker presents examples of devices and situations where these rules are applied. Further, he discusses the role that a culture, or more specifically, a cultural change can have on safety versus simply communicating the context of the rules.

Learning Objectives:
Recognize and select the appropriate means to properly lock out and tag out
Describe when you are in an arc flash risk situation
Identify the impact that creating a safe culture can have on actions
Explain how cultural influences affect those who perceive it changing versus those who are introduced to it from the inception
