Description:

What is a safe ergonomic push or pull force for something on wheels? This session explores a practical understanding of the Liberty Mutual ergonomic tables for push/pull forces, and how the size and type of wheel selected makes all the difference. Session participants do the actual testing and recording of data from the use of a special cart. The cart, with built-in force measurement, enables users to accurately determine push and pull forces at a consistent load weight.

Learning Objectives:
Recognize why larger wheels are easier to push or pull than smaller ones
Describe why harder tread wheels are easier to push or pull than softer ones
