Description:
Most construction sites, utilities, municipalities and manufacturers use some type of lifting device. This workshop covers the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, application, proper use, selection and inspection of lifting slings and hardware. Participants learn common guidelines for lifting, how to inspect wire rope slings, synthetic slings, chain and hardware. The presenters also cover the lifting triangle to calculate lifting capacities and then pick the correct size rigging.
