Description:

As workers’ compensation implements strategies for long-standing pharmacy challenges such as opioids, other drug trends are positioned to increase their impact. With pharmaceutical research and development focused on specialty drugs for chronic conditions such as arthritis, hepatitis C and cardiovascular conditions, what does this mean for workers’ compensation? A pharmacist discusses current and evolving drug trends, identifying potential benefits and concerns as these trends relate to the care of injured workers. Silvia Sacalis was scheduled to co-present this session, but is no longer able to attend. Amanda Waltemath will present this session in its entirety.

Learning Objectives:
Identify current and emerging pharmacy trends influencing workers' compensation
Explain how broader health-care trends will look in the context of injured worker claims
