Description:

Today’s workers continue to face a myriad of risks on and off the job that affect their ability to function optimally. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health presents Total Worker Health (TWH) as a paradigm for advancing worker well-being. TWH does this through integration of workplace interventions that protect safety and health with activities that advance the overall well-being of workers. In this session, program representatives present the rationale for promoting employee safety and health through TWH. They also provide examples of TWH in action with emphasis on opportunities for application in smaller businesses.

Learning Objectives:
1. List three examples of top risks facing today's workers; 2. Describe what it means to address worker safety and well-being from a TWH perspective; and 3. Recall three examples of TWH applications in smaller businesses.
