CANCELLED Pre-Emergency Planning and Inspection of Agricultural Facilities [114]
Date: Thursday, March 10, 2016
Time: 1:15 PM - 2:15 PM

Track: Agriculture and Green Industries
Secondary Track: Fire Safety
Session Type: Educational Session
Skill Level: Advanced

Description:

This session looks at facilities and processes from the perspective of emergency responders. Agricultural operations present some of the highest potential for injury or fire because the processes often are inherently dangerous with little ability to eliminate the risk. Rather than focusing entirely on elimination of an emergency, the presenter discusses how to best manage a potential response. By examining operations for areas that present high potential for an emergency, safety managers can better prepare for any needed response and assist responders if that time comes.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify exposures that present high risk to personal safety and/or high risk of large property loss; 2. Describe how to develop plans for risk reduction and enhanced emergency response within the given operations and facilities; 3. Recall specific information that may be pertinent to emergency personnel's abilities to respond; and 4. Explain information to fire and emergency response agencies to assist them in making a safe, efficient and effective emergency response.
