Ohio's workforce is no different. We hear of drug overdoses much more frequently. The presenters discuss use, abuse and addiction. They also review behaviors indicating possible use and abuse or addiction, and provide suggestions for human resource professionals who must address the matter. In addition, they address the proper implementation of return to work after a positive drug test or rehabilitation. They also provide tools for employers to understand relapse better with a broad-based discussion on employee assistance program implementation. Learning Objectives: 1. Identify addictive behaviors in the workplace; 2. Recognize costs associated with work related injuries and recovery; 3. Describe the indirect costs associated with drugs, alcohol and addiction in the workplace; and 4. Recall tips for employee dialogue with addiction and recovery in the workplace.
