Description:

Attendees of this high energy and interactive presentation get a recap of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) citations in the area of process safety management (PSM) and risk management program (RMP) from inspection data. The presenter shares lessons attendees can learn from these citations, the National Emphasis Program, and from his own experiences. He also provides suggestions on how to apply these lessons to the attendees' facilities. Employers often overlook the multiple OSHA regulations that usually link to the PSM standard. Discussion is necessary. The presented information is relevant to all processes covered by the PSM and RMP standards, with any specific hot button issues.

Learning Objectives:
1. Explain the trends in OSHA and EPA PSM and RMP enforcement; List detailed examples of the top five cited PSM elements with compliance suggestions; and 3. Discuss other OSHA regulations linked to the PSM standard and the importance of including them in internal PSM/RMP audits.
