Description:

Ohio employers must understand Ohio workers' compensation laws and play by the rules if they want to contest or defend against a claim. The presenters lead employers through the steps necessary to contest a claim, from the initial date of injury through the Industrial Commission of Ohio (IC) hearing process. They detail the key components required for a successful initial claim investigation, and explain what types of injuries are and are not compensable. The presenters also explain what defenses are available to employers who want to contest a claim, and proper collection of medical evidence and proper preparation for IC hearings.
