Description:

Nearly 50 million Americans use tobacco. Meanwhile, tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of disease, disability and death. While cigarette smokers account for the majority of users, Americans use tobacco in a variety of other forms. Not all tobacco users are ready and confident they can quit, but they still need access to education and resources. Come learn what you can do to best support this population in your organization.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize the types of tobacco products trending in today’s market and the associated risks; 2. Describe the benefits of helping employees to quit tobacco use and how it impacts workplace culture; 3. Identify ways to support employees and their spouses who may be ready to quit tobacco; and 4. Explain how pharmacotherapy doubles quit rates and other cessation best practices.
