The presenter provides an understanding of how these biases form, and how they affect our resulting behaviors and us. Additionally, she examines the implication of these unconscious biases and their resulting behaviors on the workplace environment. Learning Objectives: 1. Define the concept of unconscious bias; 2. Identify examples of unconscious bias in the examples presented, and suggest the impact of the words/actions on the recipient; 3. Describe a strategy to introduce the idea of unconscious bias in a non-threatening and non-punitive way within your own workplace; and 4. Describe a strategy to monitor progress in limiting the impact of unconscious bias in the work environment.
