Date: Wednesday, March 9, 2016
Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Speakers:
Jared Cass, Occupational Medicine Service Line Director, Avita Health System

Track: Rehabilitation
Secondary Track: Human Resources
Session Type: Educational Session
Skill Level: Intermediate

Description:

Employers that simply apply for the grant, complete the process and check the Transitional Work box will most likely not benefit from the process and structure of transitional work as it is intended. In this session, learn why a team of individuals is critical to drive the claims process with an emphasis on ergonomics, customer service and communication. The speaker describes how employers must offer services to meet the needs of varying shifts, why to engineer out high-risk behaviors or job-design components, and that supervisors need to fully understand the process and his/her role within it.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the importance of employee morale; 2. Explain the importance of communication within the process; and 3. Recall examples of why simply doing transitional work may not meet the objectives of your company.
