Description:

Medical marijuana is unique among drugs because the plant contains chemicals that may help treat a range of illnesses or symptoms. The presenter educates you on the risk, benefits and regulatory impacts of prescribing medical marijuana to injured workers. He also identifies best practice guidelines for monitoring workers before and after an injury.



Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the chemical activity and physiologic effects of cannabis derived compounds; 2. Explain the potential therapeutic benefits and adverse risks associated with marijuana use; 3. Define evidence-based guidelines for drug testing and their role in prevention/post-injury monitoring; and 4.
