Description:

The presenters designed this session to assist public and private employers in understanding their responsibility under Public Law 91-596 when selected for mandatory participation in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses. The speakers provide information on steps businesses have to take to prepare to respond to the survey, the forms they use and benefits they receive from information gathered.



Learning Objectives:
1. Explain an employer's legal obligations under Public Law 91-956 to respond to the BLS' Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses; 2. Describe the BLS survey process; and 3. Identify resources to assist employers with completing the BLS survey.
