Description:

It often takes just one or two factors to cause an accident. If you build or retrofit machinery, a structured risk assessment is a fundamental priority in which to begin designing for safety. The goal of a risk assessment is to identify hazards, analyze the risks and then apply the appropriate risk reduction measures. In this session, the presenter reviews the steps of how to perform a risk assessment in accordance with the applicable standards. In addition, the presenter discusses local, state, federal, and international standards.

1. Recognize and define hazards and risks; 2. Describe how to prepare for a risk assessment; 3. Explain how to eliminate or reduce risk exposure.
