Safety professionals, both in-house and private/public safety consultants, often ask about their liability. In this educational session, the presenter discusses current cases and explores the different aspects of who, why, where and what. The session explores the civil and criminal liability of safety personnel under federal law and Ohio law. While this presentation addresses the civil and criminal liability of the safety person, keep in mind that those individuals who perform human resources functions or who have employment related authority or responsibilities over and above pure safety functions may have a separate liability.
