Description:

This session covers basic primary care of amputations and mangling extremity injuries. First responders learn about basic first aid for these injuries and gain an understanding of reattachment surgery.



Learning Objectives:
1. Explain how to care for an amputation patient as a first responder; 2. Describe the indications for reattachment surgery; 3. State the importance of cooling amputated parts; and 4. Discuss the importance of aspirin.
