Description:

There is a lot of myth and lore surrounding various firearms, ammunition and gunshot wounds. This lecture provides a primer and advanced discussion of the science of ballistics and gunshot wounds.



Learning Objectives:
1. Describe various types of firearms and how they work; 2. Compare the similarities and differences between various types of ammunition; 3. Explain the mechanisms of injuries caused by projectiles; and 4. Recognize the various wounding patterns associated with projectile injuries.
