The presenter discusses case-based education using standardized patients as an instructional model that allows the instructor to use factually based, complex problems to stimulate classroom discussion and provide interactive student involvement in specific situations. Learning Objectives: 1. Describe how to create a case-based story and tell a real story; 2. Explain how to encourage students to think and take action; 3. Identify tools to engage the classroom; and 4. Recall how to direct student discussion.
