Description:

Employers develop safety programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Safety policies and procedures, training, work-site safety inspections and safety event reporting are important processes. Although employers need to have these processes in place, they do not always produce intended results. What is missing? The presenter introduces participants to the missing link, Safety Culture. He discusses how to develop a culture of safety, and implement components that will influence employee attitudes and beliefs toward safety.

1. Define safety culture; 2. Identify the components needed for a safety culture; and 3. List the factors to consider when managing the culpability of safety events.
