Description:

The presenters discuss the many return-to-work options for injured workers, including remain at work, gradual return to work and lost time return to work. The speaker describes the role of the provider, employer, worker, case manager and therapist in helping with a return-to-work program. They also discuss traditional outpatient therapy, on-site therapy, transitional work and case management at length, and Ohio BWC bonus programs that may reduce cost to the employer.



Learning Objectives:
1. Explain the impact on the cost of lost time claims for employers; 2. Define return to work options, e.g. remain at work, return to work and gradual return to work; 3. Describe the role of each party (provider, case manager, employer, injured worker, and therapist) in a workers' compensation claim; and 4. Discuss on-site therapy, traditional outpatient therapy, work conditioning/work hardening, transitional work and vocational rehabilitation.
