Description:
In this workshop, the presenters discuss the complicated literature in safety climate and culture. They review the current, state of the art, and future directions for this research, and connect the literature to occupational safety and health management systems in hazardous work environments. The presenters also provide the work organization context in which safety policies, procedures, and practices are implemented in a hazardous work environment. Lastly, they recommend interventions to improve safety climate and culture in organizations.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe key components of the academic literature in safety climate and safety culture.
2. Discuss the current state of the research and promising future directions for research in hazardous work environments.
3. Apply this literature to examples of occupational safety and health management systems.
4. Compare potential interventions to improve safety culture and safety climate in hazardous work environments.
