This can happen on either a professional or personal level. Attendees learn the unrecognized hazards when working with and around excavations. This information allows the experienced person or competent person to gain a better understanding of hazards. Learning Objectives: 1. Define excavating, a cave-in, and protective systems. 2. Explain the natural forces at work and the hazards presented. 3. Identify danger signs that increase the probability of experiencing a cave-in. 4. Summarize the different methods available to provide for a protective system.
