Description:
Personal accountability is the key to safe work practices for operations on the oil and gas well site during simultaneous operations. Identification and continual education of risk protects employees on the job site, but understanding the consequences of their actions is an essential element for personal safety. The objective of this session is to increase awareness of the importance of knowing one's surroundings and identifying potential risk threats and dangerous situations, which is more of a mindset than a hard skill. Two case studies of fatal incidents at oil and gas well sites are examined. Anyone working around oil well or construction sites with multiple operations being performed simultaneously will benefit from attending this presentation.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the importance of personal accountability on simultaneous operations on an oil and gas well site.
2. Identify the importance of continual evaluation of risk on the job site.
3. Define the consequences of an employee's actions in a culture of personal safety.
