Studies show native language training is significantly more effective than English-only training. Attendees will learn how language and culture impact the effectiveness of workplace safety training, and why simple translation or interpreting often isn’t enough. Attendees will also learn how to transform/develop training programs that resonate with workers and result in demonstrable workplace safety improvement. Learning Objectives: 1. Explain why multilingual and multicultural workplace safety training results in higher employee engagement and safer work environments. 2. Identify options to create effective multilingual safety training, such as direct recording in the target language, subtitling, voiceover, translation, and/or interpreting. 3. Describe how to develop new training or transform existing training to create a culture of safety that impacts employees’ daily actions on the worksite.
