Description:
Ohio patients with a doctor’s recommendation can now use marijuana as medicine. While employers are not required to allow employees to use the drug, it’s important they determine and communicate their stance on the issue. What should this stance be based on? How have or could their decisions impact the practical operations of their drug-free workplace program? Join us to think through real-life scenarios and learn about business and operational issues facing businesses related to Ohio House Bill 523.

Learning Objectives:
1. Summarize business and operational issues facing businesses related to Ohio House Bill 523 (Revised Code to authorize the use of marijuana for medical purposes and to establish the Medical Marijuana Control Program).
2. Describe the understanding of the related drug-free workplace program issues for employers and employees.
3. Recognize and review key decisions that need to be made – particularly relating to policy, operations and employee/supervisor awareness.
