Description:
This session is for those who serve farmers and rural families. As an agricultural business or agency, you know the toll that stress plays in a farmer’s life. However, knowing when to step in and offer help can sometimes be an awkward situation. This session helps agriculture advocates recognize the signs of stress and the types of services available for their farm clientele. Go beyond being a good listener, learn how to break the stigma of mental health. Members of The Ohio State University's Rural and Farm Stress Task Force will co-present this session.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize the physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms of stress.
2. Describe ways to change the culture in agriculture by not labeling mental health conditions as signs of weakness.
3. Explain how to use trusting relationships to help others through tough times.
