Description:
Feel like your safety talk fell flat, the team just didn’t hear you? It’s not just about the content; the connection to the worker is crucial to an effective safety program. Using William Marston’s DISC personality profiles, participants learn to tailor the message to each of the four basic personality types, evaluate safety risks based on team personality, and better coach individuals with safety or work-related issues. DISC takes behavior-based safety from “gotcha” to “got it.”

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize and understand the four DISC personalities.
2. Describe how each personality type receives and reacts to information.
3. Summarize DISC knowledge and how to tailor safety messages and training.
4. List the simple DISC people reading techniques to determine personality type.
5. Define and understand how group culture (team personality) impacts safety culture and risk.
6. Recall and use DISC to enhance the outcomes from behavior-based safety observations.
