Description:
This session covers the different levels of heat related illnesses (rash, cramps, exhaustion, and stroke). Hear about physiology (why these illnesses occur), the symptoms of heat illnesses, first aid and higher levels of response, and avoidance techniques such as scheduling of work tasks, breaks, acclimatization, etc. The instructor also discusses hydration strategies and atmospheric conditions that can lead to heat related illnesses.

Learning Objectives:
1. Define conditions that may lead to heat related issues with employees.
2. Summarize knowledge of how the body reacts to extreme temperatures.
3. Describe the symptoms of heat rashes, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
4. Identify first aid steps for all levels of heat related illnesses.
5. Explain techniques to help employees steer clear of heat related illnesses both at work and at home through training.
