This includes a survey of certified ergonomists’ tools and methods, a study of the effectiveness of ergonomic equipment in material handling operations, and research on ways to understand barriers to implementing solutions in various industries. This is relevant to gain insights for assessing injury risk and making ergonomic and safety interventions work to reduce risk. Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the most commonly used ergonomic risk assessment tools and methods. 2. Explain the impact of ergonomic material handling equipment on reported pain symptoms. 3. Recognize barriers to putting in place ergonomic and safety interventions. 4. Identify ways to track effectiveness of interventions in your own workplace and distinguish ways to maximize impact.
