Description:
In this session the presenters provide an overview of heat related illness (HRI) in occupational settings that includes a description of HRI, risk factors, interventions, and annual and quarterly rates for Ohio by industry. The presenters explain resources available to employers and workers for measuring heat as well as signs and symptoms to look out for and other potential heat-related health outcomes. Additionally, the presenters introduce the audience to ongoing research into the weather and worker conditions in Ohio where they see the most workers’ compensation claims for HRI.
