Date: Thursday, March 12, 2020 Time: 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM Location: Greater Columbus Convention Center Room: Hall C Speakers: Patrick Nelson, Senior Consultant, Lead Star Track: All Industries and Workplaces Session Type: General Session Skill Level: All Levels Description: What’s Your Safety Story? We all have experiences where unsafe environments - at home, at work, in life - impacted us in profound ways. These experiences, often untold, have the power to save someone's life. By building the skills to share our experiences through storytelling, we're able to inspire safer behaviors. The practice of storytelling also creates a culture where individuals feel more closely connected to the safety of others and contributes to a service-based environment where caretaking, collaboration, and teamwork thrive. Learning Objectives: 1. Describe and construct your own personal safety stump speech. 2. Explain the importance of using stories to promote strong safety cultures. 3. Recognize growth in the key safety leadership topics of self-management and accountability.
