Description:

Ohio employers must understand the Ohio workers' compensation system and play by the rules if they want to contest or defend against a claim. This session leads an employer through what is necessary to contest a claim — from the initial date of injury through the Industrial Commission of Ohio (IC) hearing process. The presenters identify key components required for a successful initial claim investigation. In addition, they explain the types of injuries that are compensable. The presenters also discuss the defenses available to employers who want to contest a claim, the collection of medical evidence and proper preparation for IC hearings.
