Upon the adoption of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 2012, organizations found themselves scrambling to contact manufacturers, install new labelling systems with updated pictograms and implement employee training schedules. Although the new regulations provide standard formatting and ease the pain of international regulation barriers, the adoption of GHS has created challenges. The presenter explains how knowing the materials and potential hazards on-site is the first step toward a safe and compliant workplace.
