Description:

Construction employers must comply with the new Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) crystalline silica standard by June 2017. General industry and maritime employers must comply with the standard by June 2018. The rule significantly reduces the amount of crystalline silica dust that workers can be exposed to on the job. The new permissible exposure limit for respirable crystalline silica will be 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air, averaged over an eight-hour shift. Learn about key provisions of the new standard and how to comply.
