Time: 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM
Location: Greater Columbus Convention Center
Room: B131

Laura Hodson, Coordinator, Nanotechnology Research Center, CDC - The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health

Track: Industrial Hygiene
Session Type: Educational Session
Skill Level: Advanced

Engineered nanomaterials are increasingly used in a variety of applications from additive manufacturing to composites and electronics. As the use of nanomaterials continues to grow, the potential occupational exposure also continues to increase. In this session, health and safety professionals learn how to recognize the potential for occupational exposure, how to evaluate exposures and how to apply good risk-management practices to the use of engineered nanomaterials.

Learning Objectives:
Describe engineered nanomaterials and potential applications
Identify appropriate sampling/analytical methodologies
Apply good risk management practices to protect workers
