Zachetti has been an industrial safety consultant specialist at BWC’s Division of Safety & Hygiene since 1999. His responsibilities have included: Being a 19-year instructor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OCOSH) - lockout/tagout and OSHA recordkeeping; Conducting management safety culture assessments, leadership training and management systems evaluation for Ohio Employers; Developing and recommending best industry practices for safety cultural and behavioral change; Advising top management on ways and means to eliminate the predominate causes of accidents and injuries in construction and industrial settings; Developing extensive accident prevention and safety educational programs/policies for industrial and construction companies; Instructing company personnel in recordkeeping, accident cause analysis/investigation; Conducting OSHA compliance industrial and construction safety inspections, designing methods to assess work operations, providing technical information regarding OSHA compliance and hazard avoidance; Preparing technical reports and recommendations concerning hazard elimination and OSHA compliance; explaining to company personnel the basics of workers’ compensation system and related procedures for cost control; conducting annual cost and statistic reporting and reviewing with top management; analyzing company injury history and providing safety program/policy design assistance for loss prevention and OSHA compliance; Encouraging employee input and participation through safety committee design and evaluation; Fostering teamwork and effectiveness in addressing safety issues through employee involvement; And developing technical best practices manuals for construction and industrial companies.
