Alford has been involved in machinery reliability and functional safety since 1988. He is the functional safety and machine guarding lead for Rockwell Automation in southern Ohio. He has been helping manufacturers increase their understanding of risk assessment, functional safety and machine guarding fundamentals for the last 10 years. Alford has been certified by TÜV Rheinland as a functional safety engineer and is authorized by them to teach certification courses for Functional Safety Technicians. He is a graduate of Saint Leo University and the University of Cincinnati Executive Education Program.
