Speaker: Benjamin Peetz, Agricultural Risk Control Consultant, FCCI Insurance Group
Ben Peetz currently works as a Risk Control Consultant for the Agribusiness division of FCCI Insurance Group, and he has over 10 years experience in commercial insurance loss control. In his past duties, he has traveled much of the Midwest providing inspection and technical analysis of commercial and industrial properties for underwriting, injury prevention, and fire protection, as well as developing engineering solutions and training programs for the prevention of fire and other losses. Peetz is a Certified Safety Professional, and has also earned designation as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist. He is also an IFSAC-accredited fire service instructor who has served over 20 years in various roles with the Napoleon (Indiana) Volunteer Fire Department, currently as assistant fire chief. He has presented at the international Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, as well as a number of other regional and state safety conferences. He has been a contributing author to Fire Engineering magazine, as well as other industry publications. Peetz is a graduate of Purdue University with degrees in Agriculture Communications and Agrisystems Management, and worked several years for Purdue’s world-renowned agricultural safety and health program. In addition to his fire and safety experience, he has worked as a staff member of the State Senate of the Indiana General Assembly, as well as being a past county-level elected official and member of his county’s E-911 communications advisory board. He resides with his wife and daughter on his family’s century-old southeastern Indiana farm, which they still operate.
