Joe Powell 10 years in healthcare field. The majority of this time was spent in the laboratory. He is currently a Safety Officer and Emergency Management Coordinator for two hospitals in the Central Ohio Area. Mr. Powell is responsible for creating and maintaining both hospitals emergency response plans. Mr. Powell designs and creates emergency drills for facilities to test response and recovery from a multitude of events. Mr. Powell is currently enrolled with Western Governors University to finish his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management this spring. He is a graduate from Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marion Technical College where he received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Mr. Powell has also taught at Marion Technical College. Mr. Powell is a registered Medical Laboratory Technician with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional with the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers. Mr. Powell is a 3 year member of the Safety Congress Healthcare Facilities Committee and Chairs the committee this year.
