Speaker: Julie VanDyne, Principal Engineer, IDC Engineering Inc. I have over 36 years experience in the electrical industry. I graduating from Ohio University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. After a short stint in consulting, I went to work for American Electric Power and held several engineering and management positions. While there, I received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Capital University, and attained my Professional Engineer's License. I left AEP in the mid-90's to return to the consulting arena. In 1999, I founded my own company, IDC Engineering, Inc. We provide consulting in the power engineering field, with an emphasis on Arc Flash surveys and analyses and training. We have performed several hundred studies and have provided employee training for such firms as Honda of America, Kraft-Heinz, Rolls Royce, Siemens, Timken, Crown Cork and Seal, Plastipak, and many many others. I have become involved in the IEEE 1584 Arc Flash Standard working group which is in the process of preparing an update due out in 2017.
