Speaker: Barbara Corner, Attorney and Employment Team Lead, Disability Rights Ohio
Barbara Corner was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She has a B.A. degree from the University of Rochester with a major in psychology and a minor in elementary education. Her law degree is from Albany Law School in Albany New York. When she was in third grade she had a crush on a second grader who cheered for the newly created and always losing New York Mets. From that time on she has been interested in championing the rights of the underdog. In New York, she represented state prisoners challenging prison conditions. Now as an attorney for Disability Rights Ohio she represents people with disabilities in a wide range of cases involving such issues as disability discrimination under the A.D.A., Social Security overpayments, access to vocational rehabilitation services and accessible transportation. She has been the Employment Team leader for three years and supervises attorneys and advocates who provide advice and representation on employment discrimination, vocational rehabilitation and other matters.
