Speaker: Sergey Grinshpun, Ph.D., Professor, Director of the Center for Health-Related Aerosol Studies, University of Cincinnati
Grinshpun received his Ph.D. in physics and is professor of environmental health. He’s the founding director of the Center for Health-Related Aerosol Studies of the University of Cincinnati. He has served as the principal investigator for more than 40 research grants/contracts on measurement and characterization of ambient, indoor and workplace aerosols, exposure assessment and health effects, particle dispersion and transport, air quality control, bio-defense and bio-security, and other areas. Grinshpun authored and co-authored more than 600 scientific publications (of which more than half are peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters). He has given approximately 60 invited lectures in more than 20 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He has served a panel member, reviewer, advisory board member or consultant to governmental agencies, professional associations, research institutions and industry in the U.S. and worldwide. Grinshpun has mentored more than 50 graduate students and about 30 postdoctoral fellows/visiting scholars from 15 countries. During his 35-year career, Grinshpun received 14 awards from national and international associations and agencies.
