Johnson is BWC’s chief medical services and compliance officer. He manages the various business units necessary for coordinating BWC’s health-care services through a network of providers and managed care organizations (MCOs). Under his purview, the various business operations execute quality and cost-effective medical, vocational rehabilitation and pharmaceutical benefits plans and associated fee schedules; establishing a quality pool of medical and vocational service providers to ensure injured workers have access to quality, cost-effective and timely care; establishing and implementing claims, medical and vocational policies, rules and training and evaluating and processing medical bills. Johnson has been with BWC since June, 2008. Prior to BWC, he was the chief financial officer for Parman Group, a former vocational rehabilitation service company. Johnson also worked in various leadership roles, with Nationwide BetterHealth. After a nine-year professional career with the Ohio Department of Health, Johnson joined Nationwide Insurance in 1994 as a manager in the office of health planning & development. He received his J.D. from the Capital University Law & Graduate Center and his master's degree in public administration from The Ohio State University. He is a licensed member of the Ohio Bar, the United States District Court, Southern District, and the United States District Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.
