Amanda N. Alvarez was promoted to Chief of Investigations and Morgue Operations of the Franklin County Coroner’s Office in the fall of 2016. Amanda has been with the Coroner’s office since 2010, when she was hired as a Forensic Technician. In December of 2008, Amanda graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropological Science and minors in Forensic Science and Life Science. In June of 2010, Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. In December of 2013, Amanda received her medicolegal death investigators certification from the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. Amanda is an active member in the Ohio Mortuary Operation Response Team and regularly gives back to the community by giving presentations to children, youth and young adults throughout Franklin County.
