I was a Compliance Safety and Health Officer (CSHO) for Indiana OSHA (IOSHA) for 12.5 years. As a CSHO, I performed or assisted on over fifty combustible dust inspections at a wide range of facilities located throughout the United States, including National Emphasis Program (NEP) inspections, accidents and fatalities. I also assisted Federal OSHA and State Plan OSHAs throughout the United States in performing all of the aspects of a combustible dust compliance inspection. Since 2009, I have also been a member of several of NFPA Technical Committees that address combustible dust hazards. These committees include the following:? Committee for Handling and Conveying of Dusts, Vapors and Gases (NFPA 91, 654 and 655) Committee for Wood and Cellulosic Materials Processing (NFPA 664) Committee on Fundamentals of Combustible Dust (NFPA 652)? Correlating Committee for Combustible Dust (Oversees all combustible dust technical committees)? Committee for Flash Fire Garments (in charge of writing and maintaining NFPA 2112 and 2113) In the last four years, I have performed over fifty presentations, speeches, technical sessions, etc. on combustible dust at various conferences and other events including the 2015 & 2016 Ohio Safety Conference, NSC Conference (2014-2016) and the ASSE Safety Conference (2012, 2014-2016). I have also taught numerous portions/sections of the Combustible Dust Course (Course 3320) at the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) in Arlington Heights, Illinois. In addition to teaching the OTI Combustible Dust course multiple times, I have also performed combustible dust training for several OSHA State Plans. I currently perform combustible dust consultations throughout the United States where I have continued to document and address an infinite amount of combustible dust hazards in a myriad of industries throughout the United States. I also have performed several combustible dust training sessions and seminars throughout the United States.
