Speaker: David Lippert , President, Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co.
Lippert has worked in the industrial caster and wheel business since 1982, when he started with Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co. As a member of the fourth generation of this family manufacturing business, his experience began in the plant where he worked as a project manager, shop floor supervisor and then plant manager. He became president of the company in 1995. Hamilton Caster is focused on the industrial caster market, bringing a wide selection of standard products along with custom design capabilities to serve customers’ needs. Additionally, the company designs and builds carts and industrial trailers to solve in-plant transportation requirements. Lippert graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He has served as a board member of the Greater Hamilton Safety Council for more than 20 years. He has also worked closely with the Occuptional Safety and Health Administration, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and BWC to bring three safety expos to the local area. In addition, he is the company’s representative on the Ergonomics Assist Systems & Equipment Council, part of the material handling industry trade association. In that role, he has served on two industry panels focused on assisting major retailers solve material handling challenges. He has also been a presenter at the past five Applied Ergonomics Conferences. His experience with the industry trade association spans more than 20 years, beginning with an independent caster and wheel trade association, and more recently with the Material Handling Institute (MHI). He served as president of the Institute of Caster and Wheel Manufacturers (ICWM) when it was an independent trade association and another two year term as president of ICWM as part of Material Handling Institute. Lippert currently serves on the Board of Governors of MHI.
