Speaker: Dave Lippert , President, Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co.
Dave Lippert has worked in the industrial caster and wheel business since 1982, when he started with Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co. As a member of the fourth generation of this family manufacturing business, his experience began in the plant where he worked as a project manager, shop floor supervisor, and then Plant Manager. He became President of the company in 1995, the office he currently occupies.. Hamilton Caster is focused on the industrial caster market, bringing a wide selection of standard products along with custom design capabilities to serve customers’ needs. Additionally, the company designs and builds carts and industrial trailers to solve in-plant transportation requirements.
Following graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1976 with a BS in Civil Engineering, Dave became an Instructor Pilot for six total years of active duty service.
Dave has served as a Board member of the Greater Hamilton Safety Council for more than 20 years, and has worked closely with OSHA, NIOSH, and the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation to bring three safety expos to the local area. In addition, he is the company’s representative on the EASE (Ergonomics Assist Systems & Equipment) Council, part of the material handling industry trade association. He has been a presenter at the past three Applied Ergonomics Conferences. He co-authored a book on reshoring manufacturing to the US (“Bringing Jobs Back to the USA”), published in 2014.
His experience with the industry trade association spans more than 20 years, beginning with an independent caster and wheel trade association, and more recently with the MHI. He served as President of the ICWM (Institute of Caster and Wheel Manufacturers) when it was an independent trade association, and another two year term as president of ICWM as part of MHI. Dave currently serves on the Board of Governors of MHI.
