Speaker: Kim Thompson, CCM, RN, CRRN, director, case management, CareWorks of Ohio
Thompson began her professional nursing career as a staff/charge nurse for a trauma/surgical step-down unit. She then worked as clinical manager of several diverse physician private practices. She specialized in urology and cardiology with exposure to internal medicine and family practice. Thompson has been in the workers’ compensation industry since 2002. Among her many responsibilities are direct oversight of the drug utilization review process and acting catastrophic nurse coordinator for the managed care organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing with a minor in psychology from The Ohio State University. She maintains current certifications as both a certified rehabilitation registered nurse and as a certified case manager.
